The technical analysis of XAUUSD price on the 1-hour timeframe shows XAUUSD,H1 is retracing up above the 200-period moving average MA(200) after declining to four-day low two days ago. We believe the bullish momentum will continue after the price breaches above the upper Donchian boundary at 2933.67. This level can be used as an entry point for placing a pending order to buy. The stop loss can be placed below 2923.33. After placing the pending order the stop loss is to be moved every day to the next fractal low indicator, following Parabolic signals. Thus, we are changing the expected profit/loss ratio to the breakeven point. If the price meets the stop-loss level (2923.33) without reaching the order (2933.67) we recommend cancelling the order: the market sustains internal changes which were not taken into account.

US producer prices index came in higher than forecast for January. Will the XAUUSD price continue rising?
US producer prices index came in higher than forecast for January: US PPI rose 3.4% over year in January, versus expectations for an annual rise of 3.2%. The strong PPI report followed a hot consumer price index report for January released on Wednesday. PPI was up 0.4% over month in January against expectations for a 0.3% rise. Both annual and monthly figures for previous month were upwardly revised to 3.5% and 0.5% respectively. Higher PPI indicating producers charge more for goods and services usually result in higher consumer prices as higher costs are usually passed on to the consumer, yielding higher inflation. Expectations of higher inflation are bullish for US dollar which is bearish for gold. However, the current setup is bullish for XAUUSD.
